Festival dates for 2008! February 10 , 2008 Hi, Everyone! We had our best-ever "Winter Edition" CABARET classes a week ago with Jaunelle Celaire from the UAF Department of Music coaching everyone. There was some great talent in that performance at the Westmark's Northern Latitudes Room. Several new people said they'd been wanting to take part in these workshops for years - and now they are ready to take this summer's classes! If you've always wanted to take some classes, this is the year to do it! Next week, on Monday, February 18th, at 6pm, we begin GOSPEL CHOIR rehearsals with Bobby Lewis and Eustace Johnson from NYC, with assistance from Jaunelle Celaire. The rehearsals are at the University Community Presbyterian Church, down the hill from the University and across the street from Hot Licks Home Made Ice Cream! We invite everyone who loves to sing -- ages 15 and up -- to join this inspirational Choir! Click here for the registration form. And please note that the Gospel Choir will be performing in the 'Celebration of Black History in Song and Story" on Sunday, February 24, Sacred Heart Cathedral at 4pm. A free will offering will be accepted. We invite you to be a part of this celebration, either by singing in the Choir or by attending the Celebration performance. Adela and I are working hard on our 2008 catalog! We will have our dummy copy to Teresa at Digital Express by Monday, February 18. Our time line is that the catalog should be on our web site around mid-March (thanks to KADE!!!) and hard copies will be available locally at Pioneer Park at the ART EXPO on Saturday and Sunday, March 15 ad 16! Digital Express will be doing the mailing (wonderful to have this electronic mailing -- no more labels!) as soon as possible after that time. Our new Administrative Assistant, Erin Kelly Poland, will get our mailing master list to Brandi at Digital Express and Brandi will sort the list out for mailing. FOR YOUR INFORMATION: The local mailings will be 'Bulk Mail" and everything out-of-town will be "First Class Bulk Mail". So everyone on our mailing list should have our 2008 catalogs with registration forms within a week or so of our mailing. That's about it for now. I'd better get back to getting all the new information ready for each area of study in our catalog. We have some new classes -- I think you'll be pleased to read about them. If you've never before registered, I encourage you to consider doing so this summer. If you're hesitant about registering because you don't think you have the talent to do so, PLEASE give me a call or send an email . Also, if you would like a hard copy of our catalog, contact us as noted below. All good wishes, Jo Ryman Scott, Founder and Executive Director
