2011 and 2012 Festival Guest Artists by Department

Descriptions of some of the Festival departments follows:

Strings, Woodwinds and Brass: Our classical studies include chamber music ensembles, master classes, sectionals, and large ensembles (orchestra and wind ensemble) as well as opportunities for private lessons.

World Music/Dance: There are opportunities for people who don't read music, and there are performance opportunities for both beginners and advanced students.

Classical Voice and Choral Groups: We offer singing workshop which appeals to those who have never had formal training. We also offer vocal ensembles: Festival Choir, and Chamber Chorale (select group by audition).

Cabaret: Anyone interested in developing this style of singing is welcome and there are performance opportunities. There is no audition but you do need to bring music for the piece you've prepared.

Opera and Musical Theatre: There are opportunities for lead soloists (by audition) with considerable performance experience as well as for those singers who have had very little training but enjoy singing and wish to be in the Opera Chorus.

Creative Writing: A day-long class both weeks with talented guest artists who are sure to lead the would-be writer on the right track for success.

Healing Arts: Some great classes in Balance, Yoga, Tai Chi, and more — teaching you how to better your posture for better health. We also offer inner-healing meditation.

Dance: Ours is a study-performance for adults, teens, and even children as young as 12 years old. There are enriching hour-long classes that anyone may enroll in, and full-day core classes for serious dance students.

Visual Arts: Included are a wide range of classes, from watercolor to wood carving.
