Marvilla Davis
Voice
Marvilla Davis founded the internationally recognized Alaska Chamber Chorale which performed in 1998, 2003, and 2006 for the American Choral Directors Association regional and national conventions. She is retired from the UAF music department where she taught choral methods, advanced choral conducting, and private voice. She is currently active as a guest conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and voice teacher. Her voice students have consistently taken honors at state competitions.
Byron McGilvray
Voice
Byron McGilvray moved to Athens from San Francisco State University when he retired approximately ten years ago. He now teaches at Trinity Valley Community College where he is the Chairman of the Vocal Music Department. At his retirement, he received the Swan Award for his “…remarkable contributions to choral music, music education and professional leadership in California and the world.” McGilvray has inspired many singers in his 28 years as a Festival guest artist.
