Barbara Short

Education

Barbara Short is a committed art educator, advocate, and artist. She has recently retired from the Fairbanks School District where she was a teacher, art administrator and advocate for over 25 years. Such a long career was acknowledged in 2006 when she was awarded the Governors Award for Art Education. She is a founding member of the Alaska Arts Education Consortium, a group that—over the past five years—has had great success in training teachers to use the arts in their classrooms.
