FILMMAKING ~ New this year

Filmmaking registrants will have the opportunity to meet with Leonard Kamerling following Meet the Artists at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon, July 13 to get acquainted during the Chancellor’s reception in the Great Hall OR go to the first class on Monday morning.  See the Registration Form for more information. Filmmaking New this year! $395
9:00am-3:30pm, , M-F, Both Weeks with break for lunch.
$10 materials fee to be paid to Kamerling at the first class.
This class is open to the first 12 students to register.  Students will acquire knowledge and hands-on skills in visual story telling, film theory, screenwriting, camera techniques, location production, and computer editing.   Working collaboratively you will use your new skills to write, stage, produce and edit an original five-minute dramatic film to be shown on last Saturday morning, July 26, at the Alaska Coffee Roasting Company.  This will be a fast-paced, demanding and fun class!  There are no prerequisites.

Filmmaking
Alaska filmmaker Leonard Kamerling has produced numerous critically acclaimed, international award winning documentary films. He is Curator of Film at the UA Museum of the North, and Associate Professor of English at UAF.  He is on the faculty of the MFA Creative Writing Program where he specializes in teaching writing for screen, television and stage.
