Scrapbooking registrants will have the opportunity to meet with Leslye Korvola following “Meet the Artists” at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon, July 13, to get acquainted during the Chancellor’s reception in the Great Hall OR go to the first class on Monday evening. Limited to the first 12 who register, these classes will provide an informal opportunity to share ideas that will inspire you to collect your pictures and mementos into a meaningful story. Everyone has stories to tell, but sometimes it seems overwhelming to know where or how to start. Once you start, however, it’s very satisfying and addictive! This class is for beginners but anyone is welcome. The materials fee will provide the essentials to get you started. Bring the pictures and mementos which you want to use in starting the album that suits your purpose, style or story.

Leslye Korvola is a long-time Fairbanks resident. Something had to be done about the clutter she’d collected over many years and scrapbooking was the answer! In her own words: “Scrapbooking has helped me organize my memories about family and my 40+ years in Alaska as well as my experiences in teaching and travels overseas. Articles I’ve had published tell a lot, but scrapbooks reflect much more, and a couple of my scrapbooks have been Grand Champions at the Fair!”
