PIANO MASTER CLASSES and STAFF ACCOMPANISTS

Pianists have the opportunity to meet with their guest artists following “Meet the Artists” at 4:00pm on Sunday afternoon, July 13, to get acquainted during the Chancellor’s Reception in the Great Hall OR go to the first class on Monday. Registrants needing an accompanist can speak with guest artists that day or any time during the two weeks.  Please Note:  The maximum registration fee – regardless of how many classes you select – is only $550.  See the registration form for discounts available. Master Classes ~ Classical

44) Piano: Master Classes for Adults $80
Instructor: Raynor
10:30-12:00noon, M, Th Both Weeks
These classes will provide opportunities for the students to perform prepared pieces for Raynor and the rest of the class in a typical master class style. Four-hand, two piano works can be a part of the class. Opportunity to perform at “Lunch Bites”.

Guest Artist Maria Allison • Kenai, AK
Staff Accompanist
A Festival guest since 1986, Maria Allison has been an Alaskan resident since 1979. She freelances as an accompanist for choral groups and musical theatre, and frequently performs solo and chamber music. She is on the faculty of Kenai Peninsula College, and maintains a private piano studio. She received degrees from the University of Nebraska Lincoln.
Guest Artist Trudy Harris • Spokane Valley, WA
Staff Accompanist
Trudy Harris is active as a collaborative pianist, teacher and music educator.  She free-lances for a variety of soloists, playing also for classes, festivals and other events.  Former adjunct faculty at UAF, Trudy is an experienced performer with large performance groups and has accompanied several hundred students in recitals and competitions. 
Guest Artist Shari Raynor • Sherman Oaks, CA
Master Classes, Private Lessons, Staff Accompanist
Critics rave that “Shari Raynor is a sensation!” “A concert pianist’s pianist!” “Plays with intensity, conviction and impressive virtuosity!” Winner of the Presidential Medallion in the Arts, Raynor was chosen to represent the U.S. in the prestigious Van Cliburn Piano Competition. She performs internationally.
Guest Artist Anita Swearengin • Van Nuys, CA
Staff Accompanist
Anita Swearengin was the official accompanist for the National Young Artist Competition in Santa Barbara for many years. She toured with Eudice Shapiro and Endre Granat and has recorded for Laurel-Protone and Crystal records. In addition to performing, she devotes much of her time to teaching and coaching young artists in the Los Angeles area.
