Help with the FSAF Website
This website is still pretty new, and so there are a few things that may not work correctly, or maybe not as one would expect. We are striving to provide an easy-to-understand interface that makes your visit an intuitive process. If you are having trouble getting something to work right, or if you notice a factual error, please let us know and we will either fix the error, or make usage more clear. You can contact the webmaster directly via email at jwb.festival@alaska.net, or call the Festival offices at (907) 474-8869 to leave your comments.
To register for classes, first click on the log in/out link in the main menu. You will be asked for a username and password. You can start a new account by clicking on the “start a new account” link. This will ask for some basic information.
Next, “Register” link at the top of the page. You will be presented with a list of course offerings. Browse through these to find classes you're interested in, clicking on their titles for more information. Select the boxes to the left of the classes you want, then click the submit button at the bottom of the page.
You should now see the classes you have selected for registration. If there are schedule conflicts, if a class is full, or you change your mind on a class, you can remove classes by clicking the ‘Remove’ links to the right. If you are signing up for a performance class, you will be given the option of pre-purchasing a CD of its concert(s). You also have the option of signing up for private lessons at this time (only some instructors are available for early signup—others can be approached during Festival to first schedule a time).
The Festival does offer financial assistance when warranted. You can apply for a scholarship at this time. Hold off on paying for your registration until you hear back from us on your scholarship status.
When you are signed up for all the classes you want, click on the ‘Pay now’ button and you will be directed to Authorize.net to securely process your credit card. If you wish to pay by check, you can send that to us at this time. When we receive the check, we will credit it to your account. If you want to save your spot in a class but cannot afford full tuition at this time, you may opt to pay half now and half later (before July 1st to save your spot—we'll send reminders before freeing up the spot).
Once you are registered, you should receive an immediate email record of your schedule and information about orientation. We will prepare a packet with your nametag, handbook, and various goodies in it. This can be picked up starting the Sunday before classes start.
