Opportunities for Youth
The Festival is primarily geared towards adults 18 years old or older, or those who have graduated from high school. Nevertheless, there are some areas where youth are welcome to participate.
- Ice Skating—People of all ages can sign up for ice skating provided they are in basic 8 USFSA, ISI I freestyle or have permission from one of the coaches.
- Dance—There are classes available for children as young as 10 years old, and a large selection of classes for teenagers.
- Harp—There is no age limit for harp students.
- Gospel—Gospel choir is available for ages 15 and up.
Students who have completed their Junior year of high school may sign up for any music classes if they also attend the Summer Music Academy earlier in the summer.
Young musicians who have completed the sixth grade are encouraged to attend the Summer Music Academy. This year's dates are June 7–18. For more information, contact the UAF Music Department, 907-474-7555.
