DescriptionIf you have been telling yourself that you have no artistic ability or background, then this is the class for you. I begin the first day by explaining that it is the pointy-end of the pencil that you put on the paper to make marks with. If that fact is a revelation, again, this is the class for you. Back by popular request, this class is designed for those of us who are pressed for time during our busy lives. I begin by teaching you how to recognize simple geometric shapes that occur in nature and how to sketch them in less than 15 minutes. I will teach you how to shade and draw with just a simple pencil and your own sketchbook. This class is designed to be an introductory level in drawing class as well as a class for those who want to improve their artistic skills thru more accurate drawings prior to painting. I teach in a low key encouraging manner to allow you to expand your abilities thru simple exercises and with positive review of the homework that you will complete each day. This is a hands-on class with a minimum of lecture and a maximum of fun. This class usually fills quickly so sign up soon.
Materials: #4B pencils are best. Bring several. A regular eraser and a Kneaded eraser. A blending stump. A spiral bound 11 X 14 sketchbook. One small set (12) of colored pencils. Inexpensive Crayola brand from Fred Meyer’s Stationery/Art Dept. work great.
