DescriptionThe rhythm section of a steel band is called the engine room and it is a crucial part of a steel band's sound. The engine room provides the timing and rhythmic drive for the entire band and is the foundation of the music. This one-hour workshop will teach participants how to build a solid groove for the steel band, focusing on idiomatic styles and commonly used instruments. Both steel band percussionists as well as pan players will benefit from this experience.
