Biography

Lynda Sather has enjoyed living, working and volunteering in Fairbanks since 1981. She retired from Alyeska Pipeline Service Company in 2013 where she worked as the Fairbanks Communications Manager for five years, counting numerous trips up and down the road to Prudhoe Bay to Valdez as one of the best parts of the job. Before that, she worked as the Director of Community and Public Relations for the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District for over twenty years. She received a Master’s Degree in Professional Communication from UAF where her son, Paul, is currently completing an undergraduate degree in Japanese language and culture. Lynda has been an active member of the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce, the Public Relations Society of America, and many other local organizations, including serving two terms on the board of the United Way of the Tanana Valley. Since retiring, Lynda enjoys traveling, golfing, curling, biking and having as much fun as possible—which includes giving back to the community as co-chair of the 2016 United Way campaign with her friend Traci.
