Biography

Corlis Taylor has been volunteering since the first day she arrived in Alaska in 1979 as a VISTA Volunteer in Bethel. In 1991 Corlis moved from Bethel to Fairbanks and she is Manager of the Education Department at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. Corlis holds an undergraduate degree in Community Health Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Master’s Degree in Public Health from Loma Linda University in California. She has been married to James Taylor for 35 years. They have one daughter, Michelle, and have hosted seven foreign exchange students. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Alaska Health Fair, The Alaska Injury Prevention Center, The Arctic Resource Center for Suicide Prevention, The Cabin Fever Quilters Guild and the North Woods Book Arts Guild.
