Dr. Christopher Foster is a versatile musician, educator, and conductor with a distinguished career spanning performance, teaching, and leadership in music. An accomplished trumpet performer, he has played with orchestras, wind ensembles, and jazz groups across the country, including the Vermont Symphony Orchestra, The Vermont Jazz Ensemble, Four Tops, Southern Tier Symphony, Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, University of North Texas Wind Symphony, and the Ruby Mountain Symphony (as principal trumpet and soloist). His diverse repertoire spans classical, jazz, and contemporary genres, with recordings featured on the GIA Teaching Music through Performance in Band series and the Klavier label.

A dedicated educator, Dr. Foster brings over a decade of experience in higher education, including 11 years as a college music professor, along with prior roles as a high school and middle school band director in Nevada. He holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Trumpet Performance and Wind Conducting from the University of North Texas, as well as Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the University of Nevada, Reno. Passionate about music at all levels, he is also a certified Early Childhood Music Specialist, teaching Music Together® and Rhythm Kids classes.

Active in the music community, Dr. Foster has been a member of the National Association for Music Education, New York State School Music Association, College Band Directors National Association, and the International Trumpet Guild (where he served as a recording reviewer). Beyond the podium and classroom, he enjoys guest conducting, adjudicating festivals, and leading community ensembles.

Based in Vermont, Dr. Foster performs regularly throughout New England as a soloist, ensemble musician, and clinician. When not making music, he enjoys cooking, cycling, running, or indulging in Star Wars and superhero films.
