Zentangle Beyond Basics

Monday: Oceaniscent - Ocean tendrils, tentacles, bubbles and sand inspire the set of tangles and technique we explore in this session. Tuesday: Zen Gems - Zen Gems is a Zentangle-inspired class. We will create gem-like focal points to nestle in our tangles. Wednesday: Object Inspiration - Everyday objects and interesting odds-‘n-ends inspire new tangles and new compositions in this class. Thursday: Tangled Triskele - The word “triskele” is derived from Greek words that mean “three times.” In this class we tangle three pieces of paper and assemble them into a shape that is more than the sum of its parts. (fee $50/class or $180/all four)

What to bring: Black micron in size of your choice, pencil for strings and shading, white
gel pen, white charcoal pencil, extra tortillons, waterbrush. Optional: metallic gel pens,
color microns.

Tuesday, July 22, 3-6 pm
Zen Gems
Zen Gems is a Zentangle-inspired class. We will create gem-like focal points to nestle in
our tangles.
What to bring: Black micron 01, pencil for strings and shading, 2-3 tortillons, white gel
pen, white charcoal pencil, and either color pencils or water-soluble color pencils
(watercolor and Inktense pencils both work nicely and a waterbrush). Optional: metallic
gel pens, color microns, white Prismacolor pencil.

Wednesday, July 23, 3-6 pm

What to bring: 01 black micron, pencil for strings and shading, 2-3 tortillons, scissors,
bone folder or butter knife, and your favorite tangles. Optional: metallic gel pens, color
microns, color pencils, water soluble pencils and waterbrush, white gel pen, white
charcoal.
